Pats Pre-Season Game 1

The Patriots played their first preseason game last night and from what I watched, besides Brady and Moss not playing it was the usual preseason game on offense. Stalled drives and back-up QB's competing for a roster spot.

There were some great signs on defense though. The rookies were not looking like rookies. Mayo is a stud this guy was making Bruschi look like he was on sleeping pills. How can he be as fast as he is at his size. The guy was all over the place popping guys; great first round pick. Crabel had a nice pick and looks like a freak out there. Randy Cross compared him to Willie McGinest size wise. Let's just hope he is half as clutch as Willie was. Liking the young CB T Wheatley he sticks with his man and was making some nice adjustments on the in routs. Good to see Adalius Thomas getting to the QB. If you can recall anything that happened during the Super Bowl, God knows I can't, Thomas was the only guy getting any consistent pressure on Manning in the 4th quarter. Pats win and his efforts would have been stuff of legend. But, they didn't and the ass kicking tour will continue. It looks like this year the Defense will be doing its fair share of that ass kicking though. As for the D-Line. Dick is back and looking healthy, Vinny will do his thing, and Warren had a nice fumble recovery and did his best Bo Jackson impersonation for a minute. Nothing to worry about here. Not the usual penalty free Pats football, but hey it's still early.
