PJ Mansfield 6/30

What a friggen show! They played past curfew as usual at Mansfield, Eddie was on fire, and the boys were ripping off carbon copies of every song. Two surprises they played Satan's Bed & Whipping from Vitology and they played Garden from Ten which is rare and it was better than the time I heard it in Hartford, CT. The energy of the crowd seemed to drive the performance. Bird seemed to like it even though she knew a handful of the songs they played. My buddies locked their keys in the car after the show so I'm sure that killed their buzz a little, but after that show nobody went home empty. Got home beat tired, but it was an awesome show so glad I went. I am convinced Mansfield is Pearl Jams best venue. However, Eddie did hint to a Fenway show which could be earth shattering.

The Waiting Drove Me Mad

Peal Jam tonight Tweeter Center Mansfield. Bringing my girl for here first time with Eddie and the boys should be fun. My buddies are following PJ around the U.S. and broke the news that 1) Mansfield Saturday night has been the best show yet (that includes the MSG, D.C., Bonaroo shows) 2)Eddie is not ripping off any solos with the "Into the Wild" stuff. Hoping tonight is the night. I saw the days two and three of the experiment back in 2003 @ Mansfield and boy was it a treat beyond my wildest dreams. Eddie did an entire acoustic set that set the tone for the best concert of all time; no joke. They then played past curfew and almost got thrown out of town.
Here is a copy of the set list from the 3rd show:
preset: You've Got to Hide Your Love Away (Ed solo)
set: Release, Animal, Gods' Dice, Do The Evolution, Insignificance, Love Boat Captain, I Got Shit, Low Light, Rival, Lukin, Not For You, Daughter/(WMA)/(I've Been Tired), You Are, In Hiding, I Am A Patriot, Once, Rearviewmirror
enc 1: Driven To Tears, Corduroy, Soldier Of Love, Crazy Mary, Alive
enc 2: Baba O'Riley, Yellow Ledbetter
No other band gives you more for your money then Peal Jam. I've seen quite a few live acts and none compares to PJ except The Stones live at Fenway. But the Stones are my dad's PJ so I guess that figures. Two great bands, but I give it to PJ cause the Stones ain't walking through that door and if they do...you know the rest. I've seen Pearl Jame at the new Gahden, in Hartford at the Dodge Center, and Mansfield. I have to say Mansfield feels like home to Eddie and the boys. They always raise the bar for the Mansfield crowd Eddie always takes it to that extra level in his voice that noone else can. Chills thinking about it.

I just wish I had seen them when they had first come out and seen Eddie do a legendary stage dive.
