Taking a look at the Pats D this year the biggest question mark is the secondary. The line is strong the linebackers added Mayo and Crable and look to be devastating with Bruschi, Vrabs, and A Thomas returning and Seau ready for a call any moment. Some say the cornerback position is the weakest on the team. I say it doesn't really matter when you have two of the NFL's hardest hitting safeties of all time on you roster checking luggage in between the hash marks. What receiver will even think of running an in rout or slant with the likes of Rodney Harrison and John Lynch covering the middle of the field? How can you even think of running up the middle now? This is Dangerous!
Some food for thought if you are a reciever facing the Pats this year...
Lynch's career fine highlights: He earned three $7,500 fines for unnecessary roughness between 2001-04 before being nailed with a $75,000 fine in ’05 for a helmet-to-helmet hit that knocked out Colts tight end Dallas Clark.
Jacks up Dallas Clark at :11 sec
Highlight Reel:
Rodney: as of 2002, had racked up over $200,000 in fines by the NFL. Voted on by peers as SI's dirtiest player of the year 2004 & 2006. wikipedia.com
And he can Still hit:
